    I'm like a 'go-to guy' for other web designers, developers, marketers, business owners (and, oh Lord, some do-it-yourselfers); I won't take their wife off their hands while their girlfriend's in town, or their girlfriend off their hands when their wife is in town (unless it involves Braves' tickets), and I won't go feed their dog (well, actually, I would) — I'm not THAT kind of 'go-to guy'. But when somebody decides that there's something their website needs, like some membership management database programming, or some web form development, or some kind of fancy jQuery slideshow or php traffic analyzer, if they know me they'll often end up thinking, "I'll call Glenn, see if he can do this for me", and I usually can.

    I have a knack for getting things done (mainly because I love my work, which is mainly because I love problem-solving, which is what coding is all about. Also it's because I have no LIFE and consequently do this seven days a week, all hours of the day, except when there's a ballgame on or I'm at a meeting or having my callouses shaved).

    I don't design pretty stuff much any more - even though I have a good eye for layout and balance, I'm not very good with colors - (I JUST RECENTLY learned not to wear white socks with my sandals). I don't often 'build' a website from the ground up. Like I said, I like solving problems, working with something that already exists; this in itself keeps me quite busy.

    I like doing this, and I get warm fuzzies when I help others (is that hoaky or what?). And unless the Braves call needing another shortstop (if you knew me you'd know how funny that is), this is what i do. I'm a coder. I write and fix code.

    Cascading Style Sheets

    CSS, (Cascading Style Sheets) is a style sheet language used to describe the presentation semantics (the look and formatting) of a document written in a markup language (HyperText Markup Language), designed primarily to improve content accessibility, provide more flexibility and control in the specification of presentation characteristics, enable multiple pages to share formatting, and reduce complexity and repetition in the structural content (such as by allowing for tableless web design)...

    PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor

    PHP, (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a general-purpose scripting language originally designed for web development to produce dynamic web pages. PHP code is embedded into the HTML source document and interpreted by a web server, which generates the web page document. PHP can be deployed on most web servers and on almost every operating system and platform free of charge. A competitor to Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASP) (my favorite part) and similar languages, PHP is installed on more than 20 million websites and 1 million web servers.

    MySQL

    MySQL, (developer Michael Widenius' daughter, My, Structured Query Language) is a relational database management system (RDBMS) that runs as a server providing multi-user access to a number of databases. Projects that require a full-featured database management system often use MySQL. Applications which use MySQL databases include: Joomla, WordPress, phpBB, Drupal and other software built on the LAMP software stack. MySQL is also used in many high-profile, large-scale World Wide Web products, including Wikipedia, Google and Facebook.
