THE MISSION OF THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH INTERVENTION
Projects is to produce knowledge, educate, and provide services to improve thehealth of marginalized individuals, families, and communities.
WE WILL:
- Develop new knowledge and methods applicable to reducing the risk of acquiring and spreading HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and other serious infectious diseases associated with illicit drug use and high-risk sexual behavior;
- Provide services shown to reduce the likelihood of contracting these infections;
- Make available prevention programs, medical care, and other services for individuals, families, and communities at-risk for and living with these infections;
- Train future professionals who will share the knowledge gained with others through presentations, publications, and direct service;
- Establish partnerships with local community agencies to address racial, ethnic, and socio-economic disparities in prevention, health, and health care.
